The Shady Rest Campground features YEAR-AROUND CAMPING. We are a family campground in a PEACEFUL, mostly wooded setting, close to nature. The Campground is situated on 16 acres in the heart of the Endless Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania, located about mid-way between Scranton, PA and Binghamton, NY, just 3 miles from Interstate 81, Exit 211. This location is convenient for travelers for an overnight stay, vacationers for a week-long vacation, a seasonal get-a-way, or a winter retreat with skiing at near-by Elk Mountain Ski Resort. We are also centrally located for workers in the natural gas industry. No matter which category you are, we have the perfect site for you. Of course, if you want a specific or pull-through site, or a site during winter, please call ahead or email to make a reservation or obtain further information.

We have 35 upgraded sites, all with water, sewer and metered 30- and/or 50-amp electric. Several sites will accommodate RVs up to 40 ft in length. Additional amenities include a dump station and Wi-Fi hot spots. Laundry service and firewood are also available (fee). Within a short walking distance is the Tunkhannock Creek, an idyllic spot for swimming.

Sites are level with gravel surface. Primitive camping can be accommodated at our creek-side sites, conditions permitting. There is one restroom with a tile shower, toilet and sink located in the basement of the main house; it has a separate outside entrance for campers. Sites for tents are located close by. Driving directions:
From Interstate I-81 Exit 211, Lenox:
Southbound, go Left/North onto SR 92 for 3 miles.
Northbound, go Left/West onto SR 106 about 1/4 mile then Right/North onto SR 92 for 3 miles.
In center of village of South Gibson go Right onto SR 2067. Go about 1/4 mile, then Left into the campground.
Please... DO NOT take Exit 206, Lenoxville, because the entry into Campground is not easily navigated (camper damage possible) and there are several road turns with poor pavement. And DO NOT go left on SR 2067 (Cat Street in South Gibson) because it becomes un-passable with no turn around available. Follow your gps only if it agrees with the Driving directions.
